Paul Fretwell, a member of our talented 1st line support team celebrates seven years of “making an impact” with our valued clients.
He initially joined Impact as a workbench engineer and worked on hardware. As his skillset grew, Paul wanted to challenge himself and have more interaction with clients, so he moved to our service desk.
Now on the front line, you’ll find Paul manning the phones and providing quality service to our customers.
We caught up with Paul to learn more about his time at Impact.
Why did you choose a career in IT?
“My interest started with playing video games, first on the original Gameboy, then console, then onto PC.
As soon as I got my PC, I wondered how it worked, what it does, and how to take it apart and put it back together.
With that interest and all the questions in mind, I decided to choose an IT career.”
What have you learnt during your seven years with Impact?
“Over the seven years I have learnt a lot, technical and non-technical.
With the people here there is always an abundance of knowledge to pass around and you’re always learning something new every day.
What would you like to achieve in the future with the company?
“My next goal at Impact is to move onto the 2nd line team and learn more about 2nd line duties.
Eventually I would like to keep moving up the company and getting into the 3rd line role.”
Tell us about something you’ve achieved at Impact that you’re proud of
“I am proud of receiving the Customer Service Award 2024 and the Mentorship Award 2024.
Both awards make me proud of being seen as one of our best for customer service and being a mentor for the other 1st line engineers.”
Hear from Impact’s Service Desk Manager Lewis Cowley: “Congratulations on 7 years working with us Paul. It’s such a pleasure seeing you provide the amazing service to our clients daily. We all appreciate what you do here for us, and here’s to many more years working together!”
