Adam Gregson
Managing DirectorJoined: Company Founder
Adam founded the company in 1999 after identifying a gap in the market for responsive, helpful and dependable IT support for businesses. After studying computing in college, Adam worked in IT sales and computer network solutions before starting Impact Computing.
As a result of Adam's commitment to providing outstanding service, Impact Computing has built the reputation and client base it is known for today.
Adam is responsible for leading the team and driving the company towards its vision and goals. Adam also ensures that the company’s values and mission are upheld and that services are delivered the Impact Way, maintaining the quality that the company was founded on.
Adam enjoys keeping healthy with swimming, walking, and cycling. In particular, he enjoys the outdoors and travelling the world.
Will Hartley
Client Solutions DirectorJoined: May 2002
As Client Solutions Director, Will is responsible for advising clients on their current and potential IT solutions. Over the years he has built an extensive and valuable knowledge of our clients, products and services which is why he is so valued by the team and our clients.
Studying Computer Science at university Will worked for a number of years as an IT Manager. In the early years of Impact, he lead the technical service of the business covering all areas from telephone support to server installations. As more engineers joined the company Will’s role has moved away from technical service to supporting many other areas of the business such as sales, finance and procurement.
Will is an avid Motorsport fan and has attended events in multiple countries across the world. Outside of the office, he can often be found DIYing or spending time with his family.
Ashley Farr
Service Operations ManagerJoined: September 2015
Ash has progressed through many roles over the years from joining as an IT Technician to Support Desk Team Manager. He now leads the Security department focusing on developing and executing our security services while taking a leadership role in the business.
Ash gained his IT interest from family and started by building and upgrading PCs. From 2008 Ash has worked in IT, covering a multitude of technical areas and building an excellent career suited to MSP environments. Ash then began to develop his leadership skills and took on the role of Support Desk Team Leader in 2016, becoming Manager in 2019. His positive attitude and mentorship skills have provided vital support to the team. Ash took the decision to specialise in security to better protect our clients against ever increasing threats and vulnerabilities.
Ash is a huge fan of Formula One and is often found at the kart racing track trying to beat his last lap time. Ash’s other passion is IT and he will often spend his free time keeping up to date with technology developments and expanding his own skills and knowledge.
Lewis Cowley
Service Desk ManagerJoined: June 2015
Lewis provides the vital role of Service Desk Manager whose focus is on supporting his team of engineers and ensuring our clients get the best possible customer service. It can be a very challenging role, but Lewis’ can do, positive attitude is just what is needed.
Having a love of technology, Lewis studied IT at college where he then secured his role at Impact as a Trainee Engineer. He knew immediately this was the career he wanted and very quickly began to develop his skills and knowledge from 1st to 2nd line, particularly enjoying site visits and meeting clients face to face. Lewis then moved into a team leader role on the service desk, developing his managerial and mentorship skills.
Recently, Lewis has become quite partial to DIY and you’ll often find him in B&Q. Aside from that he also enjoys motorsports, walking and exploring the outdoors.
Claire Paterson
Finance & Administration ManagerJoined: February 2019
Claire manages and oversees many of our internal finance and administrational functions such as bookkeeping and payroll. She is also our Information Security Representative ensuring our requirements for ISO27001 are met and maintained.
Claire has been working in administration since 2011. Originally wanting to work in the creative sector she completed a degree in Television and Film Design. Working in hospitality for a number of years, Claire then moved to office work where she developed her knowledge and career in finance undertaking training to become a qualified payroll clerk and bookkeeper.
Outside of work Claire is passionate about music and drums and sings in a local band. She also likes taking long walks and cycling.
Robyn Eccles
Executive AssistantJoined: August 2023
Robyn has over 15 years experience working as an Executive Assistant, she provides executive support to the Management Team as well as looking after HR and Office Management within the business.
Robyn enjoys travelling, reading, music, exploring new countries and enjoying the outdoors.
Wayne Dalton
Cloud Solutions LeadJoined: March 2009
Wayne is our longest standing Senior Engineer and has been fundamental to the growth and development of the company for many years. Originally joining as a Technical Support Engineer, Wayne has developed extensive knowledge across many areas of IT. He currently specialises in software and system applications, more specifically cloud-based platforms like Microsoft 365 and Azure. Wayne now leads the development and management of our cloud-based solution Thrive.
Studying IT at A-Level, Wayne worked briefly in hospitality but continued to study IT in his own time accruing several certifications. He began his first IT role in 2006, before joining Impact Computing in 2009. While expanding his technical knowledge to become a Senior Engineer, Wayne has also built an exceptional reputation for his customer service and executing projects with efficiency and expertise. Wayne provides vital support internally, managing systems and applications as well as staff training and leadership.
Wayne likes to walk (very fast) and will be out on most lunch breaks. If not walking, he is typically enjoying a holiday abroad.
David Gladwin
Senior Service Desk EngineerJoined: July 2010
David is one of our long-standing Senior Engineers having been with the company over a decade. He is an integral part of the Service Desk providing 3rd Line support to clients and leading installation projects. David regularly provides training and mentorship to other engineers, passing down his extensive knowledge and experience. He is also responsible for our internal IT infrastructure making security of our hardware and network a priority.
David has always had an interest in knowing how things work which is why he decided to follow a career in IT. He studied IT at college while also working for a few years in security. He then started working in IT in local schools where he began to expand his knowledge and expertise in networks and hardware. Joining Impact Computing as a Technical Support Engineer, David further established his specialisms and high standards of customer support building strong relationships over the years with clients.
His interest in knowing how things work has also extended into cars and motorbikes - you know the sun is out when you can hear his motorbike arrive at the office! Dave also enjoys spending time with family and his dog.
Tom Russan
Cloud Solutions SpecialistJoined: November 2016
Tom is one of our Cloud Solutions Specialists delivering and developing our Thrive Solution. He is a certified Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert and has successfully migrated many clients to cloud based solutions working closely with each one to meet their individual requirements.
Tom has had an interest in IT from the start of his education, graduating with a degree in Computer Network Technology. He secured his first IT role in 2012 and began to develop his career through both public and private sectors. After joining Impact Computing, Tom worked for several years as a 2nd Line Service Desk engineer, before deciding that he wanted to specialise in Microsoft 365. Since then, he has achieved a number of qualifications including Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert and Microsoft 365 Security Administrator Associate.
Tom has a number of interests outside of work from walking to flight simulation. He enjoys sci-fi and fantasy with films, TV and reading
Fox Redman
2nd Line Service Desk EngineerJoined: August 2017
Fox is one of our 2nd Line Service Desk Engineers and is also our Team Leader for the Service Desk. He handles some of the more complex requests escalated from 1st Line and supports the Service Desk Manager with operations and team management. He also carries out frequent site visits to clients whether this be responding to network emergencies or installing new hardware.
Fox joined the team as a 1st Line engineer, while completing his final year at university studying Computer Science. After a few years working as a first line, Fox developed the skill set to move up to second and expand his knowledge further. He has become a wonderful mentor for the junior staff, always allowing them the opportunity to learn and passing on his tips and tricks. In 2022, Fox took his MS-700 exam and became a certified Microsoft Teams: Teamwork Administrator Associate, another certificate to add to his plethora!
Fox enjoys spending his free time in the gym, at home building PCs and exploring, both in the UK and abroad. He is also an avid Star Wars fan.
Paul Fretwell
1st Line Service Desk EngineerJoined: November 2017
Paul started at Impact Computing as a Workbench Engineer, so you’d often find him disassembling and re-assembling hardware. As time went on and his skill set grew, Paul wanted to have more interaction with clients and so moved on the Service Desk. Developing his knowledge and pushing himself out of his comfort zone, Paul has since thrived as a Support Desk Engineer and is always bringing in positive customer feedback.
Paul got into IT following his love of video games when he got his first Gameboy. From there he gained an interest in electronics, taking things apart and putting them back together. Paul then went on to study Computer Network Technology at degree level.
Outside of the office, Paul enjoys gaming with his friends or spending time with his family.
Becky Walker-Ingham
2nd Line Service Desk EngineerJoined: May 2022
Becky is one of our 2nd Line Service Desk Engineers. She provides responsive support to clients and will always do her best to help no matter the issue. She will persevere with complex support requests and is known for her reliability to get a job done.
After living in Canada for a number of years, Becky returned to the UK to kick start her career in IT. Completing a course studying Interactive Media & Software Development, as well as an IT Apprenticeship, she was ready for a new challenge and joined the team at Impact. Since starting, Becky has proved to be an asset to the team, bringing new ideas to the table and a positive energy to the office.
Outside of work Becky enjoys coding, occasionally baking and spending time with her family and friends.
Ben Howard
1st Line Service Desk EngineerJoined: August 2022
Ben is one of our junior Service Desk Engineers, recently passing his IT Support Technician Level 3 qualification with a distinction. Ben is known for his friendly telephone manner and positivity with clients, acting as first line for support requests.
Ben has studied IT throughout his education taking Computer Science at GCSE and College. Having completed his education Ben worked briefly in hospitality. This provided Ben opportunity to develop his customer service skills as well as multi-tasking and communication. Ben would like to develop his IT skills in the Service Desk onto 2nd Line.
Ben is a very skilled pianist, having played concerts and recitals. He tends to spend his free time gaming or seeing his friends.
Florin Paun
Cyber Security ApprenticeJoined: January 2023
Florin forms part of our Security Team delivering our ever-developing security services from Cyber Essentials, staff cyber training and responding to alerts and potential incidents. His positive outlook on life and enthusiastic personality has been a great addition to the team.
Originally from Romania, Florin worked in IT from 2009 to 2014. He then moved to the UK and worked in hospitality for 7 years in supervisor and managerial roles. Florin then decided he wanted to go back to his original passion of IT but having been out of the sector for several years decided an apprenticeship was the best approach.
Florin has a multitude of interests outside of work including music, astronomy, reading and photography.
Bryan Chapman
2nd Line Service Desk EngineerJoined: November 2023
Bryan has nearly 30 years of experience in the IT industry, having worked in various sectors such as government, big corporates and specialized fields. Some of his highlights include; the installation of a dedicated Linux workstation at the top of a 1000ft communications tower, a daily commute in and out of London which lasted a year. Driving the length and breadth of the UK to upgrade modems at over 200 sites and being part of Europe’s biggest IT Outsourcing project (£10m) when Cable and Wireless outsourced to IB. He also experienced the Y2K bug in person.
Bryan has joined Impact Computing as a 2nd Line Service Desk Engineer and for the last 10 years, he's run a sea front hotel in Blackpool.
Outside of work Bryan enjoys cooking, reading and watching films. He is married with 5 children and a has grandson on the way!
Rob Garner
1st Line Service Desk EngineerJoined: March 2024
Rob joined Impact as a 1st Line Service Desk Engineer. He had a keen interest in IT and technology for many years from his first Commadore 64 to the latest in gaming computer builds.
He has attained a Foundation Degree in Network Engineering Systems Administration at Blackpool & The Fylde College and gained CISCO CCNA certifications. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his partner and children. He is also a member of Blackpool’s only Beard and Moustache Club and enjoys spending time with the other guys.
Liam Brusby
Junior Marketing Co-ordinator ApprenticeJoined: August 2024
Our newest recruit, Liam joined as a Junior Marketing Co-ordinator Apprentice. His passion for finding trends and creating content comes from his background in Television and Radio and Sports Journalism.
Originally from Newcastle, Liam studied an undergraduate degree in Television and Radio Production at the University of Salford and has previously worked in User Research.
In his spare time Liam plays darts for a pub team, enjoys football. gaming, writing and spending time with friends.
