MICROSOFT TEAMS - WHAT'S NEW (AUGUST 2020)

Posted on 11 Aug 2020

Microsoft is continually rolling out updates to its Teams application. The latest updates offer new meeting experiences. Here are some of the highlights.

New Gallery Views

The previous update increased the number of participants you can see on screen to 9. The latest version ups the ante with a maximum of 49 participants on one screen and the new 'Gallery' mode put all the faces in seats, similar to sitting a lecture hall or seminar.

Pop Out Meeting Windows

All calls and meetings now have their own separate window to the Teams app, great for keeping the work going in the background and streamlining your experience.

The controls for meetings have also been moved to give users a cleaner, more user-friendly experience.

New "Meet Now" Experience in Channels

With the latest update, you can find the "meet now" button in a channels upper right corner and launch your meeting from there, or you can schedule a meeting for later.
