What did the customer require?
PPS are the UK leader in Returnable Transit Packaging solutions for industry.
They were looking to streamline and simplify their IT infrastructure by reducing their number of on-site servers and leveraging more cloud systems, all while needing to integrate with on-premise applications like Sage.
With the desire to implement more cloud systems, we had to ensure both aspects of their IT infrastructure could be kept as secure as possible, so additional security measures were imperative when proposing a new solution.
What was the Impact Solution?
We implemented a hybrid solution, reducing their on-site infrastructure from five servers down to two, while also using Microsoft SharePoint for data storage to increase flexibility while working remotely.
In conjunction with the data migration to Microsoft 365 we also set up Multi-Factor Authentication across both cloud and on-premise systems to improve the companies’ overall security posture. To mitigate any additional expenses, we configured a number of virtual machines to allow secure access to the line of business applications from outside of the office.
What did PPS Midlands say about the solution?
“The project implementation went smoothly throughout. The initial meeting clarified our aims and identified the constraints which meant the correct solution could be identified which met our needs. During the implementation phase I worked closely with the team which meant the employees were kept informed on upcoming changes. There was minimal disruption to the business and transition was almost seamless. We now have a IT infrastructure which makes it easier to work remotely whilst not compromising the security.”
